People Make It Possible: Larry

In his 22 years at First Quality, sales ambassador Larry Raymer has learned that s mall wins lead to big wins and sometimes failure can lead to major breakthroughs .

He learned this lesson early in his career when he pitched a large healthcare facility to buy an adult incontinence product that was on par with what they used at the time. The company declined, and Larry thought he missed the chance to earn their business.

“Then I realized my mistake was trying to give them something that was only ‘good enough,’” Larry recalled. “I went back to them with a better idea: Try our brand-new product that has the latest technology and improved performance. They loved it! That’s when I decided I would never try to do the same thing as someone else. Healthcare facilities and the people they serve deserve the best, so I bring them the best.”

Larry says this commitment to quality is what sets First Quality apart in the marketplace. As sales ambassador, he covers seven states across the Southeastern U.S., with a focus on healthcare distributors. He can talk all day about the benefits of First Quality’s industry-leading products, but lately he’s most excited about how the company can help healthcare facilities run more smoothly.

“One of the biggest challenges they face is understaffing,” Larry said. “At First Quality, we give the caregivers at these facilities one less thing to worry about by providing a holistic approach in terms of the right products and clinical support. We’re super responsive and always follow up. They count on us and trust us.”

A legacy of helping others

Throughout his career, Larry had great mentors who helped him along the way. He knows it’s better to cross the finish line with a team and that’s how he approaches his time at First Quality, coaching new team members, sharing what’s working, and inspiring the team through his now legendary motivational emails.

As the second longest-tenured sales representative at First Quality, Larry has put in a lot of miles on the road. He says the people at First Quality and their shared mission to Make Things Better keep him motivated and when he is home, he prioritizes time with his family.

“Hitting sales numbers isn’t a legacy,” he said. “No one will talk about the sales numbers when you’re gonethey’re going to talk about how you helped. You were there for others when they needed you. You helped your team succeed. You helped people live better. That’s what matters most.”
