Director of Finance
Location: Anderson, South Carolina
First Quality is a privately-held group of manufacturing companies who are leaders in their respective field. The organization is run by hands-on owners with dynamic expansion plans to significantly increase the size of the business over the next few years.
We are looking for a Director of Finance for our brand new, state-of-the-art Consumer Tissue Product Mill to be constructed in Anderson, SC. This candidate will be an individual that excels in leadership, and is a team player with a superb skill set. Beyond the technical qualifications of the position, it is important that the individual demonstrates a strong character, excellent communication skills, and a willingness to build a solid working relationship with all functional areas as well as with "hands-on" owners.
Principal responsibilities include:
- Responsible for daily operation and maintenance of the Accounting system including cost accounting, production analysis, month-end and year-end close, financial statements, and the financial analysis of all spending.
- Collaborate with leadership team to assist in the improvement, standardization and streamlining of financial and operational processes.
- Identify and drive cost reduction and efficiency opportunities with leadership team, enhancing business performance.
- Responsible for ensuring that all transactions are properly recorded in accordance with generally accepted accounting principals and Company policies and procedures.
- Coordinate all physical inventories, resulting in the accurate representation of inventory values and quantities.
- Responsible for the reconciliation of all accounts on an as needed basis, or as requested.
- Responsible for preparing all necessary financial statements including balance sheet, P&L and cash flow statements, financial forecasts and budgets, gross margin/product line analysis, cost reports and any other analysis requested by management.
- Coordination of annual independent audit with external auditors.
- Maintain fixed assets system by updating all property and depreciation records; determine that all capital expenditures are properly classified/ recorded in accordance with company policy.
- Prepare reporting which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.
- Direct preparation of annual budget, budget proposals, and necessary supporting documentation and justification.
- Cost/Benefit analysis of capital projects.
- Monitor project accounting with emphasis on cash flow forecasting and spend tracking to budget.
- Provide management with timely reviews of organization's financial status and progress in its various programs & activities.
Successful candidate will have the following skills:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent.
- CPA and/or MBA required.
- At least 10 years of progressive experience in financial leadership.
- Ability to work closely with leadership team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Must have strong manufacturing/plant experience.
