Director of Accounting & Accounts Receivable - Retail
Location: Lock Haven, Pennsylvania
The role of Director of Accounting and Accounts Receivable - Retail requires an individual that excels in leadership in a shared services environment and is a team player with a superb skill set. Beyond the technical qualifications of the position, it is important that the individual demonstrates a strong character, excellent communication skills, and a willingness to build a solid working relationship with all functional areas. The successful candidate will overall responsibility for invoicing, accounts receivable, credit and collections, deduction management, cash application, and pricing administration for our high volume and growing retail consumer products business.
Principal responsibilities include:
- Identification and implementation of process and system improvements
- Management of the daily invoicing process
- Administration of credit and collection functions, including recommendation to management of customer credit limits
- Tracking of customer rebates, allowances and other sales-related adjustments
- Oversight of the monthly closing process for revenue, including sales cut-off, rebate calculation, and supporting journal entries, including customer incentives
- Reconciliation of sales-related balance sheet accounts
- Analyze and reconcile the validity of customer deductions
Successful candidates will have the following skills:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance
- At least 6-8 years of managerial experience in a high-volume, fast-paced, shared services environment
- Experience in invoicing of major retailers
- Must be a forward thinker and problem solver
- Team player with ability to interact and both with customers and internally
- Clear & persuasive communication, both written & oral
- Strong desktop application skills (Outlook, Excel, Access, Word)
