Director of Marketing
Location: King of Prussia, Pennsylvania
Position Summary
- Develop the annual and long term Marketing vision, strategy and plans to support the achievement of the company's private label and branded products annual and long term business financial objectives.
- Lead the development and execution of each category marketing strategy for all absorbent hygiene retail segments.
- Develop a marketing and research team to support the achievement of the marketing strategy through the development and execution of plans.
- Integrate Marketing into the annual and long term business planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish a Category Management function utilizing syndicated and retailer provided sales and pricing data to analyze each category the company competes within to measure performance of company's products compared to competitive branded products.
- Utilize Category Management to develop fact-based recommendations for understanding of category structure, SKU optimization, pricing, and promotion.
- Build the confidence of private label retail customers in the company's recommendations.
- Support the Sales function with best practice analysis and selling platforms.
- Create a consumer marketing function
- Utilize consumer insights/market research to understand consumer attitude, usage and behaviors in each category and use it as the foundation for marketing planning and innovation.
- Integrate information across sources (ie, primary research, consumer and shopper insights, macro trends, syndicated data, etc.)
- Establish a new consumer product development process collaborating with R&D and Supply Chain Management.
- Own with one voice all communication to consumers regardless of media or venue.
Ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
- Consumer marketing background of at least 10 years with increasing responsibility and accomplishments. A plus would be industry experience in absorbency products.
- Recent interaction presenting/selling to major mass retailers including Club channel at category decision making level.
- Dynamic and hands-on practitioner driving results through a dedicated work ethic.
- Affinity for applying market research to drive good analysis and fact based recommendations. A plus would be close working relationship with supply chain/operations function yielding significant collaborative efforts.
- Innovative and ability to turn ideas and initiatives into successful results.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinker.
- Well-developed leadership skill to motivate, persuade and win others over to his/her point of view.
- Supervising, developing and obtaining above expectations performance from staff.
- Candidate will supervise a staff of approximately 20 team members in Product Management, Marketing Services, Graphics, Business Intelligence, and Analysis. Direct reports include Director of Product Management, Director of Marketing Services, and Business Intelligence Manager.
- A desire to work in a relatively nimble, hands-on, faster paced, entrepreneurial organization. This person will be a thinker and a doer. Not an 'ivory tower' marketer who wants to sit in a corner office and direct others.
