SQL Server Database Administrator
Location: King of Prussia, Pennsylvania
This role works with the Information Technology architecture and operations teams to provide guidance and support building out the SQL Server Stack for First Quality Enterprises.
- Manage day to day Database Administration activities.
- To participate as a member of the Infrastructure team, in identifying and recommending improvements to systems and processes within the team to ensure flexible and responsive delivery.
- Performs complex database administration assignments essential to the production and development of database management systems (DBMS) applications.
- Assignments which are in direct support of software development and maintenance teams including database analysis, security support, design, software use, and performance monitoring and tuning.
- Design and implement Enterprise support environment for multiple SQL Server instances and perform in accordance with database administration guidelines, standards and procedures for applications development, implementation, testing, and migration.
- Provides DBMS expertise to other groups as requested.
- Regularly interacts with senior or executive management on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions, and/or customers.
Successful candidate will have the following skills:
- Minimum of 10 years Information Technology.
- BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or relevant work experience.
- Experience with design & implementation of SQL Server in a large environment.
- Programming experience with T-SQL, .NET, and Powershell scripts.
- Maintaining multiple databases with different SQL Server versions, performing SQL Server database administration tasks including installation, configuration, backup, and recovery, disaster recovery, etc.
- Familiar with Project Management methodology and SDLC.
- Strong proficiency with: SQL Server 2008/2005/2000; Windows Server 2008/2003; Windows Server Clustering; Mirroring; Log Shipping; Replication; SAN Environment; Oracle DBMS; and GE Proficy a plus.
