Insertion of the Femtex® Tampon:

Tampon Description

Before you begin wash your hands. Choose a position for comfortable insertion.

  • Stand, placing one foot on the toilet seat, or...
  • Sit on the toilet with your knees apart.

Relax and take your time.

Tampon Insertion Remove the Femtex® Tampon from the individual protective wrapping. Grasp the grooved center of the applicator (barrel) with your thumb and middle finger. The removal cord should be extending out of the plunger end.
Carefully, insert the rounded tip of the applicator into the vaginal opening. Slant the applicator towards your lower back. Tampon Insertion
Tampon Insertion Gently push and rotate the applicator and insert until your thumb touches your body.
While holding the rings of the applicator, use your index finger to gently push the plunger until flush with the end of the barrel. This will place the tampon properly within your body. Tampon Insertion

Withdraw the applicator. The tampon will remain inside you with the removal cord hanging outside the body. When properly inserted, you should not feel the tampon.

If the tampon feels uncomfortable, you probably have not inserted it far enough inside. Simply remove it and properly replace it with another tampon.

Removal of your Femtex® Tampon
When you remove the tampon, gently pull on the removal cord at the same angle you used when you inserted it. Try relaxing your muscles before pulling on the cord. Using a tampon which is too absorbent for your flow or changing tampons too frequently may make removal difficult. If you find the tampon is mostly white when you remove it, try using a lower absorbency.

Changing your Femtex® Tampon
You should change your tampon every four to eight hours, no matter which absorbency you use or how light your flow is. Be sure to remove your used tampon before inserting a fresh one. Always remove the last tampon you used at the end of your period. And remember, you should only use tampons during menstruation - never between periods.
